Thursday, March 18, 2010	7 - 8:30 pm	Lafayette Public Library 3491 Mt Diablo Blvd. Lafayette CA	Diablo Valley League Health Care Forum. Health Care Reform: What's Next in California is the title of a public form sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Diablo Valley that will be held in the Lafayette Public Library on March 18th. Speakers include Deborah Leveen, PhD, Professor Emerita, SFSU, Andrew McGuire, Executive Director, Health Care For All + California, and Lea Rosemurgy of the California Health Professions student Alliance. Co-sponsoring organizations include the CA Assoc of Retired Americans (CARA), CaHPSA, CA Nurse Assoc (CNA), CA Physicians Alliance (CaPA), CA School Employees Assoc (CSEA), Diablo Valley Democratic Club, HCA-Contra Costa, Interfaith Council of Contra Costa, Lamorinda Peace and Justice Group, LWV- West Contra Costa County. Everyone is invited. Dr. Leveen has been deeply involved in the national reform effort and will help us understand what we have learned that can help us here in California. Andrew McGuire will bring the latest on the campaign, and Lea Rosemurgy a dynamic and committed young professional will talk about why those coming into the health professions are so strongly in support of single payer. Wednesday, March 24, 2010	noon	Heritage Estates 900 East Stanley Blvd. Livermore, CA	Spring Fling. This is an opportunity to celebrate Spring and to inform guests and members about what is going on in the League. Karen Tuohy of Town Center Books will share book ideas with us. There will be a raffle to support the League. $1.00/1 ticket, $5.00/7 tickets, $10.00/15 tickets. If you would like to donate an item for the raffle you can bring it to the Spring Fling. Pat & Jim Kohnen will be selling raffle tickets when you arrive for the Spring Fling. If you have questions about the raffle you can call Pat at 925 828-3623. More details to follow about this event. Menu Choices: Asparagus Quiche, Fresh Berries, spinach Salad Classic Turkey Club sandwich with cranberries, Fresh Berries, Pasta or Potato Salad Each Entree Choice includes coffee, tea, wine and dessert.
